Heartburn and Indigestion
As the baby grows in size during pregnancy, the uterus can crowd the stomach and push stomach acid up into the esophagus, causing heartburn.
Eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day can help reduce heartburn symptoms (3 small meals and 2-4 snacks).
Avoid triggers: spicy or fatty foods, citrus fruits and juices, chocolate, and caffeine.
Eating slowly and chewing food thoroughly
Eating yogurt or drinking milk
Avoiding lying down immediately after eating
Elevating the head of the bed when sleeping
Wearing loose-fitting clothing
Maintaining a healthy weight
